I just hacked a Madcatz Xbox controller this evening and it went REALLY well.

Jeez, that dual-shock soldering job looks insane. I don't think I could pull that off!

do you know how to make those control sticks from the XBox controller extend to be usable like the Quasimoto (tm) CP does?

It can be done.  But the sticks are analog sticks and cost a hundred bucks a pop.  You do the math and you can see why no one does it.  ;)
