Title: Hacking ACT Labs Arcade REX Joystick
Post by: DCZX on June 16, 2005, 01:04:16 pm
Hi,

I'm just starting an arcade cabinet project. I bought the book "Project Arcade" and am excited. I'm planning to base it off of a Dreamcast and PS2 setup.

I have 2 old Arcade REX joysticks from ACT Labs. I was wondering if anyone knew if these are easily hackable or worth hacking into my arcade controls. I want to buy new sticks/buttons and build it into the machine.

They don't work especially well in fighting games, a "hadoken" is somewhat hard to pull off. However, I'm wondering if they would work better with a HAPP arcade stick.

thank you for your replies.  :)

Personally I have never seen one.  However if you were to take photos of the PCBs and such inside the housing then we would be able to tell ya pretty fast.  ;)

Good luck.
