And burnt it to dvd .
how do i go about playing it ???

Go to http://www.mameworld.net/easyemu/ and click on the Mame Link on the left.

Read ALL of it carefully and then you should be good to go.

OMG YELLING WILL HELP YOU LOTS.  IT MAKES PEOPLE READ YOUR POST FASTER AND GIVE YOU BETTER INFO!!!11ONE!

EasyEMU has ALL the info you need.  Get MAME32 and point MAME32 to the rom folder where your games are.  Those discs are (I'm guessing) just a cd or dvd full of game roms (you pirate you!!) .  You can't just put in the disc and play the games.

CHD files are compressed hard drive files.  a few games use them, but most dont.  Unless you have a high end PC, I wouldn't try playing them.

You need the other 6 disks for the complete set

Don't forget that some ROMs are dependent on others, too. A partial set won't play every game you see.

you don't "need" the entire set.  He should be able to play any games on that disc as long as they don't need a parent rom.  He just doesn't know how to set up mame or mame32 and won't read up on how to do it himself.
