Glass Plus

Seriously some of the best stuff ever... it doesn't streak. I use it to clean all types of monitors (CPU/arcade) and any type of glass. MY CPO is a thin lexan and it works great on that also. It's not a very harsh cleaner either, so It has been safe to use on a lot of things. Just be sure to test a small spot on different plastics or paint before wiping down the whole surface. Especially if you are trying it on the side of a cab.

For old textured control panel overlays, I use 409 and a toothbrush.  Magic Erasers and water work great as well.

I've never had a problem with Windex streaking when cleaning smooth surfaces though.  Maybe try a different brand of paper towel?

From what I've heard, you shouldn't use Windex on plexi.

damp rag and glass cleaner water(1 portion glass cleaner 4 portions distilled water)

I use it on all my cabs with no bare wood exposed and it works very well, but do not get your cabinet soaking wet, only a rag with very little solution.

For the textured control panels I clean them with a cotton ball and some strong chemicals ;D Not really that strong, a product called "Sandpaper in a can" and the main ingredient is high flash naptha. Works wonders on the textured stuff and doesn't do any damage (because it evaporates in a few seconds, which is why I use a cotton ball to minimize the area I am working on)

For the sides I usually use a concentrated lemon cleaner, without dilluting it. Haven't ever had it pull paint or sideart colors off. Pulls a lot of dirt off though.

Would you say Glass Plus is the way to go on smoked plexi/lexan?  Other things I've tried leave scratches...

On plexi, use newspaper...works great on mirrors too...
Just take a piece of newspaper, fold it up and wipe away all the fingerprints and stuff...

Isn't newsprint a bit abrasive? Not to mention the ink...

The plastics shop I got my lexan cut at recommended stuff called "Brillianize" for plexi & lexan.  No chemicals that will damage the finish on the plastic.  It's never hurt the lexan windows on my Jeep, anyway.

I see Tap Plastics (http://www.tapplastics.com/shop/product.php?pid=112) sells it online.
