Anyone know what a .FLAC file is??? I downloaded one and have no clue what to do with it...Thanks.

.FLAC is a lossless audio codec. Your media player would need to have it installed to play the file, but there are third-party applications that will converter them to MP3, although with lossy compression. Unless your an extremist audiophile, I'd just convert them to .mp3's at 160kbps or 192kbps....you can't really tell the difference, unless you've got $1000's of dollars of audio equipment.
Here's the FLAC codec: (link (http://flac.sourceforge.net/))
Here's a great converter: (link (http://www.download.com/dBpowerAmp-Music-Converter/3000-2140_4-10341187.html?tag=lst-6-3))

P.S. I'm always amazed at people who download files they have no idea how to use. ;)

Thanks Mr. C. Thats what I'm after. 160kbps or 192kbps is fine for these ears... ;)

In all my years, never heard of .FLAC. Must be new or obscure
I've never heard of it either if it makes you feel any better.

What Mr C said, if you didn't know what it was why did you download it? It could have been a virus or some trojan.

even though you're probably the type of person that clicks on mysterious virus-ridden emails too!

Jabba, Google is your friend, before you DL something that has some wierd extension (which you should even be able to see if you hover your mouse over a file) Google it to find out what type of file it is and what types of progs may be used to open it.
You dang Canadians....what's that all aboot? ;)

.flac is huge in the bootleg concert d/l scene. Sharing the Groove (now gone... :'( ) and other sites specialize in lossless boots. Lossless is vital when it comes to bootlegs since the source material is so poor in many cases.
