As I'm new to all of this I have a question...
are there any places around the US where you can go into a "shop" and buy things like buttons, spinners, etc. Basically any arcade shops to get parts? I noticed a few weeks ago when I was in CA that there was a shop in Sacramento area (where I was but they were only open during the week). I travel a lot for my job in the US and canada and it would be fun to visit some of them if I knew where they were. so if you know of a shop that's local to you, would you mind posting..
Like I know Happ Controls have a few locations but are they open for "retail" sales?
Thanks!

if you're in Toronto: http://www.starburstcoin.com/ you can walk into although not much to see, everything to buy is behind a counter, but they have buttons/joysticks and other stuff on hand for immediate purchase, but they have auctions every now and then that are also neat to check out.

I was in BC this past weekend, and might go to Calgary in a few weeks... but I'll keep it in mind...
I guess the other thing would be to find people around Atlanta who are building projects and see if I can help and see what they do (I have most of the woodworking stuff already).

Most distributors will have a parts counter, nothing to SEE though, and the prices at the parts counter are going to be high. You likely won't have much any choice of button or joystick colors and they aren't going to have spinners at all.

Where exactly in Sacramento? I don't think I know of it?
Also, Dream Arcades is opening a retail shop in Folsom (outside of Sacramento). Mainly for our cabs, but you can pickup orders there as well.

I live 10 minutes from the Happs in Delaware. It's defniately not a walk in and browse "store". They have a sign on the door - order online or the 800 number and you can pick it up at the DE location.

H. A. Franz & Company in Houston TX.
They are an arcade distributer, and have a walk up parts counter.
They are open Mon-Fri 8am-5pm and on saturday 8am-1pm

dreamarcades.. I would bet that the store that I had read about online was yours. I was in folsom a few weeks ago for a big MX race and was probably surfing the boards that night and looking at your website and saw that you were there.
I thought as much for the retail stores but figured I would ask you never know. One of the big woodworking place (Lee Valley) is in Vancouver so I did get to stop by there last weekend and look around. about the best woodworking stuff out there BTW.
