Hey guyz,
today i was in the stage where I took the control panel off my arcade cab in order to drill new holes to make the cab from a 3 button to a 6 button. But to my amaizment found that the 2 joysticks are held by a steel plate :o
today Ive been round all the hardware stores trying to find a 1 1/8" drill cup to make the holes (which btw is 28-29mm in the UK) and havent found any, the closest I have come to that is 25mm and 32mm. Anyone that can help? know where I can find a 1/18" or a 28-29mm?
And also what is the easiest way to get through a metal piece also? ???
this has now staled my whole opperation and dont know what to do! I thought I had a problem in that I havent found the right size to drill a hole but now I also need to go through a steel plate.
What is the best solution now? what are my options? urgent help needed!
IM STUCK!

I can't visualize your dillemna. Could you take a picture? I guess it doesn't matter if you're just starting over.

A "hole saw" will take care of your problem. That should cut through almost anything. It will easily cut through wood, metal, and plexiglass. The set I have is a Milwaukee and I haven't found anything it can't cut through.
Good luck and let us know how it turns out!

Just like a saw blade, those hole saws will start to dull. Be sure to sharpen it periodically - especially if you're going through tough material.
