OK, I know that it will "work" but is 27" too small for a showcase cabinet?
I believe Hulk used a 27" in his Mamestrosity showcase cabinet.
I had a nice (better than the tv in my living room) 27" TV in my first cabinet, but i sold the cabinet, and lept the TV for my next cabinet. I thought that I was going with the classic "Lusid" cabinet (no real modifications outside of it being 4 player this time), but I did that last time, and I had to "spice it up" a little to make it more unique. I went with a top marquee curve like Robocop, and the bottom like Mortal Kombat and SmashTV.
So now I am thinking that I want something different again, but is 27" too small? I am already over budget on my projects around the house, so I can't go out and buy a 33" TV.
Thanks for your ideas and input.

are you refering to Dynamo showcase cabs?
All of 'em in my area use 33'' or 39'' monitors.

I think a 27" TV would look small.

Probably too small for a showcase. But hey, if 27" is the best you can do, then it is the best you can do. If anyone comes over and says "great cabinet, but the tv is too small" tell them to get the hell out. ;D
That's what I plan to do if anyone criticizes my construction flaws. ;)

Why don't you just construct your cab so that when/if you decide you can put a bigger screen in there you can.

I thought about that too, but then I thought that I might be over-emphasizing that the TV is really too small for the cabinet.
I think that I will stick with my original plan. Thanks for the input everyone. I will leave the Dynamo showcase style to someone with a larger TV...

Some of the real showcase cabs have only a 27" monitor. It might be ok -- It depends how far away the controls are.

hey, i was just browsing through this forum and i saw this question. no, a 27" tv is not too small. but then again, my monitor encasing is custom built and not from plans or anything. but it definitely does not look too small.
