Title: Luck of the Irish (don't hate me too much!!)
Post by: Dexter on June 07, 2005, 10:30:57 am
It was doing my head in that the star wars yoke I received for helping an electronics guy with some PC stuff was looking like it would take a LOT of effort to get working. One of the pots and a gear was missing and the two x axis tension springs were knackered. Both thumbswitches were broken and one of the triggers had no spring action (in other words, a LONG way from its original glory).

I was back doing some work with him again last weekend and asked him would he have a spare gear for the controller. After some digging around he pulled out another Star Wars yoke with EVERYTHING bar the thumbswitches. Better still, he hands me a roadblasters controller and tells me to take that away for the thumsswitches(!)

So, heres a pic of them all. This means I could have my cab finished by the end of the summer. Got uber lucky on this one and am as happy as a dog with two willies!!!

Ah yes, little things like that really can make your day. Is was like a kid on christmas morning when I got home with those. Straight into the tool cupboard and took them apart to see what kind of a job I had ahead of me.

It looks like it will take parts from all three to make one fully working controller. I have to check the pots as well. Glad I got that a-pac off Andy!
