I was just wondering how do you scan CP art with out removing the overlay from the game ? ???

Are you sure you can't just remove the CP and place it on a flatbed scanner? It should only be a few pieces to put together digitally... It doesn't matter if the lid closes. Any exposed part of the scanner bed would just appear as black.
If not...
The only thing that comes to mind is to use a digital camera and a tripod or rig a suspension system for the camera to hover above the CP. Take very high resolution shots and piece it together with photo editing software like Photoshop...
I know there use to be pen style scanners but I have no clue how good they work. Also piecing together possibly hundreds of highlighter sized scans doesn't sound like a fun evening er, month... even if it came with software to help do it.
Maybe someone else is aware of some type of equipment... but that's my stab at an answer. Good luck!

If the flip up lid on your scanner comes off you could just set the scanner upside down on the control panel.*

It's a Centipede cab I don't think I can remove the CP but even if I did the art work wraps around the front.
I'll try to remove the scanner lid and see how that works thanks. I'll let you know how it works.
