Title: Hantarex POLOSTAR 15-25-31-35 kHz
Post by: skarr on June 06, 2005, 07:45:49 am
Maybe a lot of dumb questions :angel:

I got some spare cash and instead of buying a nifty 19" LCD, I'm thinking of getting a new 25 or 28" monitor for my soon-to-begin cabinet project.

I'm interested in the polostar, because it can handle various frequencies.

http://www.hantarex.be/products/videogames/polovideogames.pdf

If not mistaken, most old games run in 15kHz, some games (like MK2, Cruisin?) use 25kHz and Windows is running 31kHz ?

I was also planning to get me one of those ArcadeVGA cards, but apparently they can only pass a 15kHz signal ?

So what are my options ?
* standard videocard with advMAME?
* other?

Thanks :)

they pass a 15khz signal but if you go to www.retroblast.com you can find a review of it there where kevin states that there is a mode on it that allows yo to simultae 25khz (for mk and the later tekken games). By the way do you knwo how much the polo is? ive been trying to find out but i cant see a price anywhere on the site

cheers,

that number rings out for me for some reason.

Just had email responses from belgium, and today, italy, damn shame that i've just ordered a samsung 971p now for it's ultra wide viewing angle,

if that don't work out, i'll go the polo route

Well i got a quote back from Hantarex and they quoted me almost £100 more than the prices you stated grantspain!! As they dont have a pricing structure on there site and you have to contact them for a quote can you barter this price with them?, or is it just a case of thats the price and the end of it??

Yeah if you could that would be great. I cant believe how much cheaper the monitors are in the US, just a shame that it would cost the same again to get it shipped over here!
