this thing is bad.
-
yep, im going to be drooling over that for a while
-
nice driving ;D ::)
-
right-o, wheres the plans for these things! or at least the shop?
-
omg. that is the coolest thing ever! i wish i have the money for it.
sidenote...how harmful is it for the tv/monitor thing if its being shaken like that? i cant imagine that being good for it...but i guess if you have money to buy the setup, a few $1000's wont mean too much.
-
OMG that is so forking awesome i want one soooo bad. If i had one of those it could probably pay for itself and replacement monitors just by taking it out to the local road course during weekend racing for the season (I live about 15 minutes from Nelson Ledges Race Track they have a couple 24hr events and it's actor Paul Newman's favorite track in the U.S. i bumped ito him at the bar a few times.) oh man that thing is so sweet, definitely would need to be anchored down more though. Did anyone else notice it slide when he flipped the car?

Gimme Gimme Gimme! :P

Since when does any car/race car throw you around that much?! It's trying to be realistic without being realistic ::)

My mini is probably not far off...driving over a pebble is like hitting a rock ;D
-
YEA!!! Minwah is back! :D

Don't forget it is trying to simulate acceleration and deceleration. If the monitor image stays static and the machine tips forward it would feel like you are coming to a stop.... the reverse for tromping on the gas. It's not about what we see when watching him on the simulator.... it's about the feeling he gets.

I WANT ONE!

Well, that may be so but there are a few questions that need to be answered..
1.. what game is he playing ?
looks like colin mcrae or richard burns rally, but i'm not quite sure.
-
Its Richard Burns Rally and i want one of these bad boys where are they from :D:D:D:D:D ?

Certainly is Mark ;) - Goddamit I "NEED" one of these "NOW" If only I can convince my wife that it doubles up as an exeedingly high-calibre exercise machine!
-
Does anyody know any more details about it? How it was made? How we can make one?
-
All I can say is dag, yo! That thing looks awesome. Any chance we might see them popping up in arcades anytime soon? :D
-
Silicon Motor Speedway (http://www.smsonline.com) is a similar concept.
-
high-calibre exercise machine lol thats the one :)

;D

Nice job finding it, usedelectronics.
Now the only problem is that it costs between $10,000 - $30,000. I'd rather own a real car and get my motion sensing from that.
-
Come on.. with all the talent on these boards, why can't we reverse engineer it from the video and build our own? :D
I want blue prints and a shopping list for parts by tomorrow people! :D :D
(I'm sure it's not easy to make.. just dreaming)
-
The hardware isn't rocket science, but I don't have a clue how they get acceleration data from the games.
-
the website seems to indicate they have got a utility to extract terrain details from the game data
but how does it know location on map. speed, direction and acceleration of the car?
think they must have cooperation form the software developers to get status of the car.
at the end of the day its a fantastic force feedback system
maybe directx already provides enough force feedback information?
-
That is so cool, I'd love to play Colin Mcrae 05 in that thing!
