Title: Fix TFT Flatscreen?
Post by: rchadd on June 03, 2005, 06:53:17 pm
I pick up a TFT flatscreen monitor today for free :) but it doesnt work :(

its a Compaq TFT5000

When i press the power/standby button but it lights up momentarilly orange and then goes out

sometimes when the button is pressed the screen flashes white very quickly but then turns off

doesnt seem to be a switch issue

any ideas what it could be? a dead controller board?

is fixing it feasible? or not worth the cost

Some LCDs don't light up until you actually send a computer signal to them.  I would try maknig sure you are sending a signal, and that the computer you are sending from is not in sleep.

I would also see if there is potentially a backlight or a power supply problem.
