running mamewah frontend with neomame & mameplus. Cant get metal slug 5 & king of fighters 03 to work. Hv checked roms and they are ok. All other neogeo roms work fine. Should i be running these using another emulator??

Mame doesn't support those versions unless you have a hacked version of Mame. So you might want to try another emulator.

You can play these games in MAME Plus. ;)
I have this working in MAMEWAH without issue. What happens when you try to run them?

Scroll to the top of the screen and look for where it says " Hey, tm, you have x messages" and click it... you will then see any private messages anyone has sent you (PM)

I suppose nobody is going to tell the poor newbie that playing a version of mame that plays these games violates the mame liscense.
Also the only way these games can be played on other emulators is by running hacked versions of said emulators as it violates their liscenses as well.
Long story short..... the games are too new, you aren't supposed to be able to play them period.

You could always go to your local arcade and pay money to play them. Doing that would ensure profits are made, and incentive is there for the developers to make new versions of games in the future.
There's a very good reason the MAME team don't emulate recent games. Think about the long-term results of your actions.

Hmmmm, who has a local arcade with these games? I have a local arcade with the Ms. Pac/Galaga reunion machine and DK/MarioBros. Other than that, there are gun games and racing games, the latest Tekken. I haven't seen a NeoGeo MVS in an arcade for a long time. I would like to see some figures of how widespread these games (emulated only in unofficial builds of Mame) are and how much money is still made on them.
Please post if you know this data offhand. I'm really interested in finding out.
Cheers,

the money isnt really being made on arcades atleast in the US, most of the money is being made from console ports.

And how does that make any difference? If you've pirated the arcade roms you obviously aren't going to fork over the cash for the ports. I.E. it still hurts the industry. And if anybody needs money, it's snk/playmore. They are on the verge of going bankrupt on any given day.

Actually, it seems that the old games are more popular. Here is Midway's Arcade Treasures for PS2. It is Volume 1 of 3. The details:
Arcade classics from the 80's, such as Gauntlet and Spyhunter
Target audience: 12 and up, classic gaming fans
Type of game: Arcade compilation
