I don't know if any of you guys have any experience with converting an old Dynamo cab, but what is the largest monitor I can put in it (monitor or TV)?
-
A 27" might fit, but 25" will definatly fit in that cabinet.
-
Dynamo cabinets were originally designed for 25" monitors maximum size.

You won't fit anything larger than a 25" in those things. That 23 3/4 is something of a standard inner width. Even just the tube on any larger monitor would be too wide to fit. In other words, a 27" will never fit.
A 25" with mounts should fit no problem, though.
Do you have a particular monitor in mind? You'll be able to fit a bigger monitor in there if you go with an arcade monitor. A TV has all that extra plastic that just gets in the way. Plus it has speakers and stuff you'll never use. Lots of people take the tv route because it's admittedly easier, but I think most of those people are usually building their own so they have appropriate shelves and stuff.

I mounted a 25'' inch monitor in my 19inch Dynamo (The one you have). I took out the inside wooden brackets and replaced with this 2 pieces of 2x4, which are used for the monitor mount. One for the top, one for the bottom ;).

Thanks for all of the input and help.

bump... for more help after last long post!.... :)

I've got 2 25" monitors, but unfortunately neither one is working. I can't imagine why you would want one, but you're welcome to buy one for crazy cheap.

Alan,
I thought you probably had several working 25" monitors laying around. I know you have quite a few cabs. I actually need a WORKING monitor though!
Thanks anyway!

Nope, sorry! Can't help you there. I've got plenty of working 19" monitors, but my 25" monitors are busted right now. Most of my cabs are classics and, therefore, use 19" monitors.
