Title: Project64 and Mamewah problem
Post by: tapnout on May 31, 2005, 10:53:45 pm
Everytime i try to open a project64 file it says this "Attempt to open file failed!". Then once i click "OK" it brings me to the project64 screen. If i try to open the file from the project64 screen that opened it works fine. Any ideas? I'm using mamewah 1.5 and the latest version of p64 with the wrapper from the CPVIEWER web page. Thanks.

Hi tapnout,

Try to remove the  "(U) [!]" from the filename.

Looks to me like you have Mamewah pointing at Project64 itself instead of the wrapper - or youre using jcrouse's ini file but didnt download the wrapper at all.

JCrouse. Can your ini. file and wrapper be used in mamewah 1.5? i'm using your wrapper but not your ini. file. Also i'm not sure if i'm using the wrapper right. How exactly do you install it?

INI file = no way!

Wrapper = I'm not sure.  I only use it with Windows XP SP2 and MameWAH 1.61.

Good Luck,
John

So do you think the only way to fix this problem is to update mamewah?

Updating Mamewah would be a good idea but in any event I dont think you're actually using the wrapper there. You appear to have Mamewah pointing at the project64.exe. You need to point it at Project64Wrapper.exe. Put both the wrapper exe file and cfg file in your Project 64 folder and edit the cfg to reflect your paths. I can't really think of a good reason why the wrapper wouldn't work under Mamewah 1.5. If you change your Mamewah.ini to point at project64wrapper.exe all should be well.

Ok i never put the cfg files in the project64 folder. Now that i did and set the correct paths, when load a rom all i see is the rom loading screen show for like half a second and then the load screen disappears and goes back to mamewah.
