Title: Where do you get your Wiring Accessories?
Post by: Timoe on May 30, 2005, 12:12:59 am
I see a lot of pics on this board from people who's wiring jobs are just ELITE.  Where do you get your accessories for wiring organizers and what not?  Do you use heat shrink tubing?  Where are you getting it?

I looked at radio shack and found heat shrink in short little 4" sections.  Where do I get the longer lengths or are you using something different?

I have a list of parts (heat shrink, wire ties, wire, etc.) and suppliers I used on my CP construction site:

Hope it helps!

I haven't wired my panel yet, but I bought my wire at radio shack and my quick disconnects from Peale (see the  buy/sell forum).

My wire is 22 gauge stranded. They sell 90 foot spools for $4.99, I got one black and one red.

The solid comes in 100 foot spools for the same price, but stranded seems to be the type of choice.

I sell them on my site.  Judging by how many I sell, I'd say quite a few BYOAC'rs have them.

Home Depot sells stuff to organize CP wiring...
Shrink tubing, nylon ties and those cool little blocks to secure them to.

I did get more, and sold out *quick*.  I've still got blue .187" left, and some .250".  I'm guessing (since they ran out the quickest) that the red .187" is what you need?

I was probably going to order 100 of the .187 each, but I might not.  I wasnt sure if Ill have any time in the next few months to get my CP done, so I posted in the B/S/T about it...so disregard that request  ;D thanks for carrying all that stuff, Ill eventually be ordering a couple locks and mebbe some other odds and ends from you.

I'm not really sure what tubing stuff you are referring to in that pic - all the wires just look like standard hook-up wires of different colours.  I also see come multi-core cables in there (the ones that have multiple wires in them) which could be serial cables.

Yep, I have used the same stuff in at least one or two of mine in the past. Looks like a dead ringer for Cat5e.
