Title: sound in Atari ROMs from StarRoms

Hi, all,

Can anybody tell me if the games from StarRoms (most of the Atari classics) are supposed to have sounds? The only one that makes sounds on my system (PC running Windows XP SP2, MAME 0.96b, MAMEWAH 1.61 -- default settings on each (i.e., sound on)) is Atari Football. Crystal Castles makes a startup sound but then no other noises; the rest have no sound at all.

Sound in Windows works fine.

Just wondering whether it's a problem with my setup or if the ROMs don't include sound in the first place.

Audit the ROMs.  If they're missing anything they won't work at all.  Since you describe them as working you may have a configuration issue on your end.
