Title: dc, ps2 hacking?
Post by: krion on May 28, 2005, 08:57:00 pm
I am coming close to finishing my mame cab.  However, i am a SF3 junkie and want to somehow incorporate this into my cab.

I believe the cheapest way to do this is by hacking a DC.

My question is...  Is it possible to make it easy to switch between a hacked DC setup and my mame computer?  I mean, without having to spend 20 mins switchign wires and whatnot?  Is there some sort of adapter, switch or something?  Thanks in advance.

How about using one of those audio/video switches that allow you to switch between multiple inputs on a tv?  It would be easy to hack the buttons on it to arcade pushbuttons too.

The easy route is to use Molex connectors.  It takes me approximately 1 minute to unplug the DC connectors, and plug in the PC connectors.  I use PSX->PC/USB adapters, but should be the same thing for ipac type setup.

Of course a switch box can be used as well, but is probably a bit more of a pain to setup than simple connectors.

Do a search for on the forums for molex or dreamcast switchbox and I'm sure you will hit at least a dozen threads on this topic alone.
