I have an Ipac4 and it is set with the default mame settings. I changed a few things in mame so I can match it exactly with the Ipac. It worked extremely well for a while even when I had four people playing.
But yesterday, my friends and I were playing a game that required it to hit all the buttons. Then, Mame just kept crashing to the desktop.
When I try to reprogram the IPac, all it says is device not found, but I can still play with it perfectly.
Could anyone diagnose my real problem and tell me how to fix it?
Thanks

I bet its got something do to with CTRL, ALT, and that button in between. MAME default uses CTRL and ALT so maybe you need to use a more secure KEYBOARD keys to use. Just my 2c.

yeah, i think thats my problem, but I'm not able to reprogram my IPAC. It always says "device not found."

This is probably stupid to bring up as you're proba bly already checked, but have you tried the following page?
http://www.ultimarc.com/ipac3.html
It's how to program the ipac from the official site.

The WinIPAC utility has been hit-or-miss for me. Try the interactive method mentioned on the link above.

The Ctrl+Alt+P Method is the best. I only use winIPAC for the on-the-go flashing in MAMEWAH. Otherwise, the interactive method that AlanS mentioned is the best way to go.

thanks, i'll try that when i pull my CP out later.

My Guess is ALT-ENTER, this is P3B3 and P1B2. In MAME, it is also used to swap between full-screen and windowed mode.
Start MAME, go to the Tab Menu - Input (General) - User Interface - and look for the Toggle Fullscreen input. Set this to Numpad 5 or some other unlikely to be used key.
