There must be more than just one site...

Any other suggestions??  What websites have a good collection of mame artwork, etc.  Please help, I'm having trouble finding a place that will print these types of applications.

well... kinko's will print stuff (as well as your local printing/sign place) but you need to come up with the skill/creativity to create the design/layout in photoshop/illustrator/or the like...  I guess that's where Ace (and emdeekay for marquees) come in..  =P  I've seen Marquee images all over the place but only 1 - 2 control panel overlays for download with a mame theme...

I think few people are willing to pay what it costs to print Mame artwork and there isn't room for mark up to make it worth the time and investment in someone doing it. People just don't realize what it costs to print stuff like this and they think guys like the one above are ripping them off. I doubt if he's making much on each set that he sells.

This is largely a hobby where people make their own or adapt other things to fit. I think most of us are either tightwads or just can't afford to pay so we do what we can.

Another idea would be to pick your favorite game, or games and go with artwork from that. Theres more of that available in N.O.S. or reproductions than there is Mame specific.

You've already been to ace's... someone posted a link to emdeekay's marquees just above... and kinko's is a national chain of copycenters... try kinkos.com (unless that's an adult site, in which case I apoligise in advance)

along this line, I checked my links and can't find the sites suggested a while back for marquee artwork (IE character art, such as Galford, Ryu, etc)  could someone please repost where this is?  I've searched for 'art' and marquee art, but search wasn't successful...

I'm designing some marquee and control panel art for my cab.  In the process I've pulled together a bunch of bitmaps and jpegs, which I've thrown into one huge Adobe Illustrator file if anyone wants it.

Because the whole file is huge, here's a preview:

This is the Illustrator file:
:oWARNING!! THIS FILE IS 24MB!! :o
http://www.becauseitsfun.com/movies/Mameart.ai

It is mostly marquees and clipart that contain characters from classic games (q-bert, pacman, donkey kong, etc.).

These graphics are really good, especially the marquees and matching control panels.  Just one question though, when I open the 24mb Illustrator file the graphics contained within it are not vector or even hi-resolution pics.  I would like to use the control panel designs, but I need a sharper picture to be printed..

Is anyone else seeing this, or am I doing something wrong in Illustrator.

Can you please post the higher resolution version if you have it.

Thanks,
Marco

The question is are you a classic dude or regular?

IF classic then i suggest you contact 1UP for his artwork and otherwise there are tons of regular artwork like marvel/capcom/street fighter.and WHATEVER you do,make triple sure its on vinyal. The thing is almost like leather and great for side art, overlay but NOT marque.

here is the original thread where you can take a look at vinyal.
http://www.arcadecontrols.org/yabbse/index.php?board=1;action=display;threadid=3712
even if your picture is not that HI RES...vinyal WILL take care of blockyness and jaggy wise :o.I know because I had similer problem goin on in my first panel with paper(all pixeled out) and 2nd panel...err...couldn't be happier :D ;D.
the site for printing is(someone requested right?).
www.kinkos.com
show us pic when done ;).

Marco,

Those are the highest resolution pix that I could find at each site, and most are from jpegs and thus not vector based.  After I posted last night I went through most of the composite pictures and photoshopped out the characters I wanted.  When I get that cleaned up a little more I'll send it out.

Unfortunately, I didn't keep track of what came from where. I probably should have taken more care collecting the art and credited those I got it from (too many projects, too little time).
