Where can I get a complete set of MAME screenshots either in bulk download or sorted by rom name?
Thanks!

Nice! Thanks!

Those suck. They have borders.

Crashtest is down.. :'(
-
sheesh. You'd think he would at least keep the current progress up for download.

Trust me, you don't want to get me started on the mame32 screenshots. Bad aspect ratios, borders, many many problems with those....
-
Yeah, I'm not a fan of the MAME32 screenies either. The *NEW* ones (as of a few packs ago) are borderless, so thank goodness for that. That still doesn't fix some of the older ones.
Crashtest announced about 4 months back that the screengrab thing took too much time out of his already busy schedule, so he was calling it quits for a bit. To be honest, he put a bucketload of work into those. Every single "u" release he would get the changelogs, and go through every single original and clone that had changed, play test the game, and screengrab it somewhere interesting (not just boring demo grabs), as well as do a title grab too. Again, not just originals, but every single clone too! Unique screenies for well over 5000 titles!
Consider the sheer volume of games that have changed in just the 0.80-0.90 era, and that's a huge amount of work. So kudos to Crashtest for sticking around as long as he did.

Yeah, when mame switched to this u release thing it got really hard for others to keep up with changes. But still, why take the whole site down ??? I emailed him, see if he responds.

www.mameworld.net/maws has all the crashtest shots individually, but I also wish he would keep the work he has done so far available.

If Crashtest's screens are so much better... and I'm sure someone here has them... why don't we put them together in a torrent? I'm sure a lot of ppl would be interested in it (myself included) and that would be the best way to distribute IMO
-
I got a reply from crashtest. He's going to bring the site back up. But it was easy to tell the world he is stopping by doing the message the way he did.
-
well at least we'll be able to get what he was able to complete. I hadn't even known that these existed to be honest, but I sure would love the chance to get rid of those damn borders :)
Did he say WHEN the site would be back up?
-
I have the 1to80snap.zip which has everything up to .80 obviously. The only problem is it's 99 MB. If someone has a place to put it I could send it out.... I will check what else I have, I may have the smaller broken out ones somewhere as well....

I updated my website, and plan to set up an official (trackerless) torrent.

Just wanted to take a moment and say thanks for all the hard work Crashtest put into this. They were, IMHO, the best shots on the 'net. Also, I just visited his site and found the shots are available here: http://www.emu-france.com/?page=fichiers&idMachine=258 until he gets the torrent set up.

yes. If you watched mame.net forums a year or so ago some people were crazy on downloading pics of bexels from ebay and making them work with mame. Those aren;t supported by mame because they are low quality and required some editting.
-
yes.

Great shots! emu-france also has all the marquees. I don't suppose anyone has a link to tons of high-res marquees? I want to make my own "multi-marquee" marquee to actually get printed, and I doubt these tiny files will cut it.

Yeah, I've dug through that one. I meant "tons" as in "hundreds or thousands." ;)
I'm wanting Ikari Warriors, Victory Road, Double Dragon, etc. I am making my own multi-marquee marquee for my cab, out of my favorites, not the typical hodgepodge of Popeye, Punch Out!, Bubble Bobble, etc.

I'm planning to set up a permanent PC for Mame goodies torrents (mine, and others in general). If you want to help me, don't hesitate to donate @ http://crashtest.retrogames.com

I updated my website, I am running a torrent on my personal PC, but it can't seed 7/24.
If you want to help me set up a permanent tracker, don't hesitate to donate.
