running neomame & mame on mamewah frontend. Connected my PC to arcade monitor with auto 15/30kHz swithing thru PC VGA cable. Displays games perfect if they have a screen resolution of 304x224, but squashes/streches picture with any other resolution. Guy selling monitors, suggests to set screen resolution for all games to 304x224, within mamwah, but i cannot find this. Can anyone pls help....

Mamewah doesn't set the resolution, Mame does. You can set custom resolutions for each game in an ini file.
Try using the Mame Resolution Tool:
http://mamewah.mameworld.net/downloads.htm

You could force the resolution "into" MAME 1 of two ways:
1) PREFERRED: Edit your mame.ini in your MAME folder. Change the "resolution" from "auto" to "304x224"
2) Edit your <emuname>.ini file in MAMEWAH\ini and add the "-resolution 304x224" flag to the commandline_format parameter
Alternately, you could use the MAME Resolution Tool to help specify compatible resolutions for each particular game.

Make sure you do not have conflicting configurations in MAME.INI such as
keep aspect ratio and scale full screen both checked.

Sorry was thinking of MAME32 setting... ummm I'll have to fire up a cab in a bit and take a look. But dont expect to get full screen and keep aspect ratio without it looking squished in all but the native resolution for the game.

you are correct, i am using mameplus32 and neomame32. What you are saying is that whn i try a game that is not 304x224 on an arcade monitor it will look bad?? thought that whn i set the above resolution, all games would then be displayed like that...

What I am saying is if you have both stretch to full screen or scale to full screen (cant remember the wording) and the enforce aspect ratio that yeah unless you are at the correct resolution games might look smushed or not fill the screen with game play.
