Just talked with Act-Labs, they got some of the new guns in. In is a totally different casing. The guns are heavier and look realistic. (IE small .38 cal)
Can't wait!!!!
-
Really?
I spoke to one of their lead sales people about 1 week and 1/2 ago. They assured me that if I bought a lot of their pre-order light guns they would send their customers to me.
They said there wasn't much profit in them so they were not going to produce any more.
There's wasn't much of a discount even if I brought 100 guns, so I decided not to proceed. I guess it was a good thing!

I wish I had $80 burning a hole in my pocket
(Steals Rampy's line :police:)

Can't see how they would have people preorder and then fill with a different model.

Considering that the number one complaint about the old ones was the casing, they could probably get away with it.
I wonder if that's what they're actually doing, though. Very confusing.
-
If you order a new one... but like the older model better.... I'll trade you!
-
When I talked to them today, they stated that they had 500 orders and this was a great success for them. They were surprised at all the orders. They also said pictures will be up of the new gun in a couple of days!!!!
-
I'm confused, does this mean the pre-order will consist of the new gun style ? ???

LOL :) :) :) :)
-
I want one.
Is there if any a distributer in australia ?????
ARe act-labs taking orders now ?????
-
They should make shells available to those who already have the older style...
-
Would probably get a lot MORE pre-orders if we knew for sure and had a picture of the new casing.
Would probably get a lot LESS pre-orders if the supposed new gun from E3 show would show up. Whatever happened with that?

The PC lightgun DOES work with the D9200, right?

Pretty sure that's what KevSteele was using when he did his review at Retroblast.

Ok, wanted to double check that BEFORE I spent $91. I don't even particularly want a lightgun all that much, but my cabinet has a slot cut for one, so I am going to get one.
-
different people had different results.
I believe you have to combine the h/vsync to get the guns to work. (or something similar)
So its not a problem with the CRT... but with the multiple ways to wire it.
-
This just throws more questions in the air. They going to fill the preorders with the old gun and then come out with a new one? Fill preorders with new gun? Too many questions... Don't see how they can show pics of the old case and fill with the new...that is like bait and switch...even if it is what most would want.
-
If this is the last run of guns ever, I have a hard time imagining that they'd go to the effort of redesigning them...
-
STOLEN FROM RETROBLAST
For you arcade-cabinet enthusiasts, the ACT-Labs light gun works perfectly with the Wells-Gardner D9200 arcade monitor (see review). Unfortunately, I wasn't as lucky with the Ultimarc ArcadeVGA card
-
well, after such a large tunrout, maybe they'll redesign it all and offer a new gen of gun to us...
of course, that'll probably piss some people off who paid too much to begin with.
-
I still say $90 is daylight robbery, especially for a gun that flashes your screen white and constantly needs re-calibration. :\
-
If you don't believe it, call the freakin 1-800 number on their site and ask!!!!
Geez....
-
Exactly, someone please call and confirm.

You're someone, aren't you?

I'm NoOne, so I guess I'm out by default. ;D
-
are there any updates on this? did someone call?
-
I wouldn't spend that kind of cash on a funny-looking space zapper, but I might consider it for a heavy-duty, works-out-of-the-box gun.

As are you.... ;)

If no one else will confirm, I will call and ask were are the pics they said they would post....
-
I still think they aren't going to change the model.
Why? They stopped taking pre-orders and are ONLY building enough for those preorders...
So why would they? It wont bring them a single dollar more.
Sure, if they did get rid of the ray gun look... more people would preorder (or reorder if they look good enough).... But since they aren't taking any more orders their time is wasted... in fact... they will only get complaints from people who already own one...and want a matching set.
-
Well no matter what they do I ordered one. :( If it is the last run I had to shell out the green! I am hoping for a new shell but quess what.... It still works no matter what it looks like. Granted I am not all that thrilled about holstering it to the side of my cab as a ray gun so ya it will be pulled out as I need it. As far as a new shell yes I would like to know for sure especially since I would also want a matching set and at the same time not have to buy two more guns.

I can't find a good reason why they won't just start making them again on a regular basis. Maybe they weren't making too much money to begin with. From my understanding, though, they had no plans of stopping production until some sort of disaster cleaned out their stock. If they were making money, why wouldn't they just keep making them? Something just doesn't seem right.
