Title: 1-slot neo geo video problem
Post by: monkeybomb on May 23, 2005, 11:35:44 pm
Okay I have two boards that are giving me problems.

1.  No sound on a CPS-2 game.  I tried the game in mono and stereo (which shouldn't work anyway).  The on board volume is all the way up and two other boards have sound through the same system.

2. The video at the top is messed up.  I took a picture.   Don't look at my guy getting his ass kicked while I photograph.  Instead look at the top.  The hotizontal shift is the problem.  This is a neo geo 1 slot MV-1FZ PCB.  It has the same problem with all carts and does the same thing in another cabinet.  my two other boards have perfect video throught this setup.

Any thoughts?

For problem # 2

Look @ the motherboard (A board) for any bent pins on the connectors.

Thanks qbert.  I want to make clear that the neo geo boad is the one with the video problem and the CPS2 is fine.

I check the connections on the neo geo board again after you post and everything looked good.  Even the place where the cartridge slides in looks perfect.  :-\ :'(

Maybe try some canned air and clean it.

Might be a dust problem.

I also use this stuff made by Chemtronics, it's called Electro-Wash. It cleans the connectors of Pcbs and Neo Geo carts very well.
