Hey all:
I managed to talk my company into sending me on a boondoggle to the 2005 E3 (Electronic Entertainment Expo) show in Los Angeles last week.
There was tons to take in, of course, but one of my favorites was a well-organized exhibit of classic consoles and arcade cabinets. I went down the table taking snapshots of all the systems and have posted them here:

Enjoy!

As tempting as the first link is, the second one is of more interest

I must be getting old or something because I find the second link kind of offensive and a little bit insulting. I mean, honestly, is the gaming industry really in such sad shape that they have to lure E3 attendes to their booths with half naked women? It's like... "hey, don't look at our crappy product, look over here at the faux lesbians instead". Sheesh.

I still have the monitor from my commodore 64, just like the one in the exhibit. Man, I wish my mom didn't give the actual computer away though. I know it was old and not very useful, but the nostalgic value was far greater than the machine's usefulness. :(
I also had an intellevision, which she also gave away! Man, I miss that thing. Looking back it's hard to believe I ever owned such an obscure, retro piece of machinery, but I did, and I miss it. Oh well. :(
