Title: Horizontal Size Adjust - Kortek 26"
Post by: spartan308 on May 22, 2005, 06:12:07 am
I have a 26" Kortek monitor which has a seperate circuit board containing the pots for adjusting picture size, vertical hold etc.

I have used the pot to adjust the horizonatal size but I am still missing 3-4 cm's of picture on either side.  I have replaced the pot but this has made no difference.  Is there any other way to adjust the horizontal picture size or is my monitor stuffed?

Is it this chassis?

If so the horizontal width coil is the white tube directly left of the flyback (The black thing with the large wire that goes to the top of the tube)
The 26" kortek I have has the width coil laying down and sticking out the back instead of being upright.

Use a PLASTIC, NOT METAL hex tool to adjust this. A metal tool will most likely crack the ferrite core. If you are in the US radio shack sell tv adjustment tools in a small pack.

I have adjusted the horizontal width coil but this has made no change to the picture.  It might be broken.  Where can I acquire a replacement coil?

That I can't answer, but if you find one let me know, I shoe horned a coil from a wells gardner 7000 series onto mine, but I had to use wire ties to support it, since the mounts were completely different.

(Mine was broken into several pieces when I got it)

Casino Tech (www.casinotech.com) in Las Vegas is an authorized Kortek repair & parts facility. You can also call Kortek USA in Sparks, Nevada to order parts.

If it's a ki-2-vo chassis, neither of the places had parts for it.

(I even sent the chassis to kortek and they send it back informing me that they had no parts available for that chassis.)
