Title: Best download sites/clients?

After three years of waiting, our phone exchange has been upgraded for broadband and I should be connected in the next few days. (56Kbps to 2Mbps, slight increase  :D )

I have never really bothered downloading much stuff of the net due to the decades it would take to dl anything over 1MB.

What are the best sites/clients for dl'ing stuff (music/vids/apps etc). I used to use kazaa on the rare occasion I did need to dl something but it is riddled with virus's and spyware.

Ive heard bit torrent is pretty good. Are there any particular torrent sites that stand out from the rest?

Download Edonkey 2000 or emule then GO NUTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wish i could do that im on a 33.6k and i wanna download viper tv episodes from edonkey but it wont work on my pc :(

I like Shareeza, no spyware and connects to Gnutella1, Gnutella2 and eDonkey networks. Good for downloading bittorrents.

Most of the more popular, public torrent sites have been shutting down over the past year or so (due to increasing MPAA/RIAA pressure).  Your best bet is to try and find a private forum that offers torrents.

Generally by either 1) invitation or 2) knowing someone who's a member.

Like all those underground sites!  Anywho, heres what I find will get you almost ANYthing you want.

1) Limewire -->  Use this first.  It usually finds 90% of the files I want.
2) DC++      -->  Little more complicated and all, but finds the 9% I couldnt find.

90 + 9 = 99 ( I think there was one time I didnt get something I wnated)
