Title: Feed back Wanted On Mamewah Skin Any Pointers?

Have been playing around with desiging some skins and was just after some general feedback on my FIRST completed one.

I am new to this game so please do not be to harsh if it is not to your taste!

The only criticism I would have is that it is a little bit busy with so many characters, you might want to try fewer but larger ones perhaps similar to your third image, and that the text and picture fields could do with being more defined with perhaps thicker borders. Lastly rectangular rather than elliptical boxes tend to work better with MameWah as the layout designer is set up for rectangular fields.

For a first go though mate its far better than any guff I could churn out.

Ok point taken thought it might be a little busy for some people. Have incoperated cabinet art, marquee art as well will tweak it with larger images as you suggested and see what happens thanks for the feedback.

Post by: dema on May 21, 2005, 10:50:17 pm: I think it looks good. I like it better with a theme than a bunch of random characters. I was in the same boat with designing my cabinet art but now I'm thinking I need to tone down the quantity or tie everything together in a theme of some sort.

Work in progress pics here, still have to add a few bits and bobs and finish my control panel (the one in the pic is a temp one I knocked up so I could use the cab while I'm sorting it).

Fatal mistake there FT. I shoved a PC monitor in my cab and wedged my X-Arcade into the space where the CP goes and didn't get a thing done for two weeks!

Would probably move the fields on the right further up though, and add an additional couple of narrow fields underneath the screenshot one.

I really wish I had some form of skill with photoshop.

Tell me about it. Although the wife is starting to develop some worrying habits. After spending the last couple of months carping about the mess etc etc, now that its finished (or at least functional) I virtually have to use a crowbar to get her off of it.
