And this marks the end of this weeks flurry of releases. These were mostly small sets that I could knock out quickly. I still have about 400 movies to rip for the next set, but it will be out soon. In the meantime enjoy the Atari 5200 set!

Atari 5200 AVI Game Previews
59 Files 147MB
320x240 128MP3 Divx
This is the US Set of Game previews for the Atari 5200.
The previews consist of a sampling of gameplay only as there is really no intros to speak of.
Use in frontends such as MameWah or 3D Arcade.
Samples will be located at www.emumovies.com, so enjoy these... More are coming!
You can download the free DIVX decoder at www.divx.com, make sure that you disable the divx logo in the decoder's settings for best results.

Hi
I have attempted to download the bit torrent nintendo avi's but everytime I try and connect to the server I get the following error message
ERROR (2:08 P.M) -
Problem connecting to the tracker - <urlopen error (10060, Operation timed out')>
Any suggestions as I would love to have these avi's instead of normal screenshots
Thanks
Lea

I am not a torrent expert, make sure that you are downloading it directly from emuparadise. After that you might want to make sure that your firewall is not blocking it.
Hopefully someone who knows more about this will chime in.

Are you working on MAME movies as well or is that on a separate location?
-
Yes I am working on that set but it is so large that I am just doing some here and there between sets. There are mame sets that are out there, what will make ours different is the careful attention to content and details, such as borders for all vertical games so that that in mamewah for instance they will always keep the correct aspect ratio. It will be at least a few months until the mame set is ready for prime time. In the meantime my goal is to release one major set every couple of weeks sprinkled with a small set here and there. But mame is coming it is just BIG.

This would also be nice on the Vectrex set, where all the games are Vertical.

You know your right. It was easy in mame where I did it all through artwork. I will see what I can do with vectrex...
-
Ok, that didn't take long. Expect a new vectrex set by early next week. ;D

While I think your efforts are great, you might as well call these mamewah vids as the framerates and sizes aren't going to work that well with 3darcade, dk or any fe that applies the vids to 3d surfaces.
They need to be 256x256 preferably at about 15 fps. The data rate seems ok though.
Mind you they'll run, but people with lesser pc's or 3darcade levels with a lot of cabs are going to see a slight slowdown.

Ok guys
As stated above I cannot seem to doenload this files as I keep getting error contacting tracker!
Suggestions?

why does mamewah need borders for vertical games? is it not able to keep the aspect ratio of the vid?
imho adding artificial borders to the vids is not a good idea.

Biggest problem will be ultrastyle. I think its author mentioned before that its engine only accepts 256x256 vids. (But a user can always do a batch conversion i guess ;) )

Can you run other emulators than mame in ultrastyle now? last I checked it was mame only.

In mamewah it has a stretch option which completely fills the preview area which works great for normal games but just works horrible with vertical games.
-
The option here, for Vectrex where they are all vertical, is to resize the window in the MameWAH layout designer. The problem the becomes the no-snap image need to be sized accordingly.

That would work great for Vectrex and for mame you would have to have a Horizontal layout plus an additional vertical layout I guess.
-
Well, it doesn't work to well. You need to set kep_image_aspect_ratio to 0 and then it messes up the other graphics. Also, it's a global setting in the mamewah.ini file not in the emulator specific ini file.

Well I will admit right now that I am partial to Mamewah. Does anybody have any ideas for a good way to do a baych conversion. Maybe with a batch file or something that could easily be included with the sets? It is a whole lot easier to go down than up ;)
Thanks

maybe we could ask minwah if he is willing to add additional stretching options to the videos also. My biggest concern is the filling of empty space. Also if you keep with your standard 320x240 then using 240x320 for vertical games will keep the quality the same for hor and vertical games.

Sounds like the proper approach. Now if Mini ever returns from the bush maybe we'll see. One of two things is gonna happen. He's either going to return inspired and ready to code or return having found the meaning of life and slow down on the emu effort. Unfortunately I'm leaning more towards the second.

Well, let's hope not!
