Dunno if Chipotle's are big near you, or if Qdoba's are big...if you've tried both, which do you prefer? There seems to be a bigger Qdoba contingent near me, but I have yet to meet someone who's tried both that prefers Qdoba over Chipotle Grill. What do you think about 'em, and why do you prefer one over the other?

Drew, we must have only Chipotle around here...I've never heard of the other!

FYI:
You know who is the largest stockholder in Chipotle...?

Qdoba really is better. Neither of them know how to wrap a darn burrito, though.
If you want the real deal, you gotta go to College Station, TX and visit Freebird's World Burrito. It's an Aggie tradition. That stuff is goooood. They've even got branches in Austin and Dallas now!

It's a little weird seeing all the orange in the Austin location. There's also a Fort Worth location.

I gotta lean towards Qdoba as it satisfied many late night drunken hunger cravings on State St. downtown Madison. I've had Chipotle, and it's good, but Qdoba has a broader menu which is better. I like a bigger selection.

only losers live in wisconsin.
just to let you know I live about 20 min. away from you.

I've only had Chipotle once or twice, so my opinion is a bit biased, but I definitely have to say Qdoba was better IMHO.
And it holds a place in my heart for feeding me late at night during the semester since there is one right near my school.

Darn band punks....whippersnappers, the lot of you!
Man, I dunno what it is, I realize Qdoba has a larger range of stuff to choose from, but I just love Chipotle Grill's flavors so much more!
And for the record, I'd never choose a place based on my visits there while drunk. George Webb's (the local grease shack.....think White Castle, but nicer....not too much nicer tho) is a DYNAMITE place for late night after-bar-close eating, but would I eat there in the daylight....on purpose? HECK NO!
-
I voted don't have eother one of them close by. Heck! I'm in Canada.....That will take like at least 5 to 10 years before one gets here!! Heck, We still never got a Cripspy Cream up here, and now they're bankrupt... :'(
Closest thing we have is a Tex Mex called Lone Star, and another place called Mexicali Rosa's. Both places make mean fahitas and buritos...
-
Isn't Lone Star a steakhouse?
That wierd money you guys have is prolly the reason they won't build soon. It'll cost 'em at least triple to build there, and I dunno if you guys will melt when eating some of that hot salsa.....being made out of snow and all ;D

Did Krispy Kreme ever get their business fixed? Donuts still sell pretty good around here....

At least one down here in Houston (Clear Lake) as well. Used to eat at the original... Haven't been to the local one... Just won't be the same.
Usually got the quesadillas rather than the burrito. Blasphemy?
-
Never heard of Qdoba. Chipotle is passable, but not particularly good.
Freebird's World Burrito is heaven on earth. I ate there at least twice a week when I lived in Austin. I still go there every time I go back.
I didn't know there was one in Clear Lake!!!!!!

So for those of us who have never heard of thse places...What typ eof food do they serve <I saw a mention of burritos> are they just glorified Taco Bells or what?
BTW....Kripy Kreme Did have at least one shop in Toronto <Center of the universe don't you know?> ;)
Xar256 ;D
-
Yeah, they're mexican, but while they may not be AUTHENTIC joints, they're WAY better than Taco Bell's.
Theyve got those double-fister burritos, tacos....very basic menu, but they do those few items pretty well.
-
I have never heard of Qdoba or Chipotle. I am not even confident I can pronounce those words. But..... just so I don't feel left out, I will give my vote to Birubi Tavern.
