Hi Guys
Have just started to play around with mamewah layout designer. I have figured out how to put the background image into place and have the options boxes etc transparent so you can see the image behind.
However, I am having trouble in having the background uimage to centre it seems to only show the left top corner.
Can anyone tell me how to centre the background image?
Thanks

There is no way to center the background image in MLD. If you're going to use a background image that's smaller than your desired screen resolution, you need to use an image editor (Photoshop, PaintShop Pro) to "force" your background image into the center of a new image of the correct size.

Hi
Thanks for the reply I do have photoshop and have been doing a little bit of work on it (like Mamewah layout designer). I have a high res image that i would like to be my background in Mamewah.
Can you please clarify what I actually need to do to this image in order for it too fit? Also once I have the image size in photoshop can I add pictures such as Mario etc?
Finally How do I draw the boxes that contain the game list and game images through photoshop?
Thanks for your time

If the image is bigger than your MAMEWAH resolution, then you need to shrink it down (in Photoshop, Image -> Image Size). If it's smaller, you need to enlarge it (In Photoshop, Image -> Image Size).

If you don't have much experience with Photoshop you will probably want to follow a couple beginner tutorials that you can find anywhere on the 'net.

I have another question sorry!
Is it possible in Mamewah to select different bacgrounds for different games (i.e. Take mame for example I have seen a skin for adult games could I use this for them and add them to the list?) or does it not have that capability?
I realise you can have different backgrounds for differnt emulators but just wondered whether you can have them for the same emulator?
If so how do you name them in the layout folder? (do you label the default skin mame0 and the adult one mame1?)
Thanks in advance

You can have different backgrounds for each emulator list, just by naming the file <emuname>-<listnum>-main.jpg
It's all in mamewah\docs\layouts.txt :)

Hi
Last question I promise how do you make the boxes that surround the game list or in-game screen shots?
Does this have to be done with Photoshop or Mamewah Layout Designer?
Thanks

Photoshop - it's part of the background image. Take a look at that of the downloadable layouts at screenshotarchive or John's site and you'll see.

Hi
I have looked through Mamewah and cannot figure out how to set up a different skin for my MAME fighting games. I want to use this skin for that list of games but cannot seem to get it right.
I have it set up with the default skin which works fine but cannot set this particular list up
Please help and thanks very much so far!

Lea you can't have skins for different game lists, only different emulators.
-
You can set up another instance of MAME as an emulator though, which would achieve the same thing.

Don't think I'll ever do it but I'd like to know how...never saw anything about it in the doc's.
Did you do it as Dire said? That was a good idea.
