I wanna build a cocktail cabinet based on Ms Pacman dimensions, but I want to be able to use my 27" SVGA monitor. Anybody try anything of this sort?
-
Won't be possible with the MS pac dimensions. It would have to be increased in size. I have a 27" in a mspac style cocktail. I found 24.5 x 25.5 inside dimensions are enough to accomodate the monitor and brackets and leave room for the panel clamps.

Can you post a picture of the thing?

Where did you find those itty bitty trackballs, and how much did they cost? And does that thing have a ticket dispenser?
-
Alan, I'd be more than willing to take that 27" SVGA monitor off of your hands. ;)

Whammo! you aren't the ONLY 27" cocktail, I have one as well.

its not the size that counts.
its how you use your joystick. at least that's what I have allways been told. :-[
now I fell small with my puny 19" :-\
Man, I crack myself up ;)

Yeah, but yours is ginormous! ;D
Can you take a picture with someone sitting at it so we can get a sense of scale? I bet you could use yours as a breakfast table. (A really cool breakfast table.)

They are 2 1/4" trackballs.

Ok I've determined that if I were to expand the dimensions of a cocktail cab to fit this monitor then it would no long fit through the doorway into my game room. Therefore, I'm just gonna stick a 19" monitor into a cocktail cab and build a classics MAME machine.
I will likely be building the 27" SVGA monitor into a TMNT cab as originally planned. That's a project for a much later day, though. I'll be doing the cocktail MAME cab first. That one will make it up the stairs and into the game very easily.
