Title: Strange sudden contol problem

Hi all,
My cab suddenly started acting up on me, and I haven't yet been able to figure out a solution; all but one (of 6) of my player one buttons have stopped responding in games, and none of my 3 mouse buttons are responding either. The strange part is, all the buttons work fine outside of mame, and all but the mouse buttons work fine in the controller configuration menu within mame. The mouse buttons don't register at all in the control configuration menu (neither the overall or the game specific), but they work just fine in windows, and the trackball and spinner hooked up to the same harness work just fine in mame, as they always have... any ideas??

Maybe they got remapped somehow?  What happens when you use a fresh install of MAME, with a fresh default controller file and nothing in \mame\cfg\?

Well, after bashing my head against the wall for a few days, I finally got everything working smoothly again - I tried updating it to several different versions of mame, none of which helped, but I hadn't been deleting the old files in the cfg folder (primarily due to stupidity). I must  have had some conflicting/corrupt cfg files or something, because clearing out that folder made everything silky smooth again.
