Post by: Franco on May 16, 2005, 03:22:05 pm
Apologies if this had already been posted!

Taken from Retroblast:-

Pac-Man 3D
Want to play the original Pac-Man, but want a new "twist"? How about a 3D Pac-Man emulator that uses the original ROMs? Check out

Sounds next to impossible to play for me. I need to be looking straight at it, and even then I'm not very good. Otherwise it's a cool idea.

Isnt there a game called PacMania or something that does that?  I have a nintendo emulator for my PSX and one day I loaded it up with my dad....seen it before in that case...

I don't think you guys are fully understanding what this does.

This is not a port or a simulation.  this takes the actual Pacman ROMs and uses feedback from the sprite tiles to generate the OpenGL playing field.

Essentially speaking, this is a twist on a sprite hack.  The difference from a rewrite being that you are actually playing the REAL pacman with the REAL pacman logic, and not some ripoff.  The only differences are how the graphics are drawn.

Hey that's cool, I hope someone does the same for Mr. Do! or Dig Dug.

I was trying to add this game to my Mamewah front end but was having trouble getting it to execute, can someone do an example ini file so I can run this from Mamewah it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks Retro.

Cool, but its so much easier to play looking at the 2D pacman in the upper left that I forget to look at the 3D version.

Hey, Ray, ever consider releasing RetroFX in its last state?

I would LOVE to see it... even if it never was completed.
