Title: Golden Tee Fore! cab specs?
Post by: isugoat on December 02, 2002, 05:45:14 pm
i'm thinking i might scrap my current half-done cab (based on Lusid's design) and switch to a Golden Tee Fore! design.  this is basically because everyone in my family loves Golden Tee and you can't do a full swing on a cab with a more upright monitor.  plus a more tilted monitor will make for a better viewing angle for the 2 outside players on my 4-player control.
so i was hoping someone here had full specs so i didn't have to go to a local bar with a protractor and ruler... :)

Best I could find.   Need a clear side view to make a good guess at the dimensions.

From that pic you can tell that the trackball is about 9" away from the screen (based on the trakball being 3").  The angle of the screen will depend on how much you want to look down on it.  From some pics I have seen it looks at around 35 to 45 degree angle (from horizontal) but that's just a guess.

Here is a small GT cab.   You can really see the angle on the monitor.

That angle is really shallow, the newer ones are a bit bigger because the space between the trackball and the screen is more.  isugoat, maybe just put a trackball on a desk, set upa piece of cardboard or something abotu 9" away at an angle you think would be comfortable to watch, then slam the trackball and see how far your hand goes.  I might use Lexan to protect my tv as I remember watching some people play golden tee fore and they still hit the screen with the palm of their hand especially if they've had a good wind up.

check ebay for golden tee auctions, and look at the pics posted.

here is one that sort of has a side view

if you are going to play a lot of golden tee.  Forget the mame versions, get the pc version made by Incredible Technologies.  They have much better graphics and golf courses that are on par with the newer Golden Tee arcade machines.  There is a demo version at

Last 2 pics.  For a Golden Tee 2002 but should be close.  Now with the dimensions maybe someone can work out a rough plan.
