Title: guitar anyone?
Post by: sodapopinski on May 12, 2005, 11:27:42 pm
I love guitar and have been looking for a new one. Found a takamine marked down from $2200 to $1200, amazing sound. I know if i go buy this I won't give a damb about finishing my cabinet. i don't know what to do.

i'm a modest person, but yes.
I've been at it for about 10 years and I deserve it!
i'm sick of my entry level ovation, time for something nice.

I've got a Takamine I like, but $1200 is still a lot of bank.

isn't takamine the budget model of ovation?  Like squire is to fender?

(or have i got it backwards, it's been ages since I've read a guitar mag)

Ironically Kaman the parent company to the ovation/takamine/hamer music division isn't that far from where I work (but since they do some defense stuff it's not the type of place I think you drop in and look at guitars, larf!

I've always had crap guitars, and some day I want to get a les paul or perhaps a PRS or something.  I just never had a guitar that had good action and held intonation very well. *shrug*

applause is the lame model of ovation.
takamine are sweet guitars, well, the high end ones anyways.
the sound of this guitar will blow you away.

i suggest you go and buy a good whole house humidifier(or de-hF)for whatever room you keep that guitar in to protect that investment.
i have a martin d-12 thats split right down the middle from being too dry..
that guitar should never be out of 45% humidity and 65deg F.

I know what you guys mean by dry instruments; my friend had an upright bass crack on him(and those things are REALLY expensine). You should combine your love of all things 80s with an awesome guitar.
