i just won this on ebay.co.uk
its been converted to jamma (no board included)
cant decide what to do with it..
mame it? (i've already goto a mame cocktail)
restore it to full Taito non jamma glory and install a classic board?
stick a cheap jamma board in it, clean it up and try and sell it on?
-
Depending on what you paid for it.... I'd say put a board in it and sell it. I have never really liked that style of a Cocktail.
-
you could allways just put in in a shipping crate and send it overseas to me...............
-
What was it originally? I can't tell from the artwork. Can you get a JAMMA adapter for the original board? If so, that's probably the route I'd take.

i dont know what was originally in it - i will be picking it up sometime next week
i have a galaxians board on its way from the US so might put that in there after making a jamma converter
the glass and art paintwork underneath doesnt look too great in the pics
not sure is the glass clear on these type of tables with graphics on the underlay? or are graphics painted to underside of the glass?
will probably design customer underlay graphics (depending on board i put in there) and get new glass if it cant be cleaned up.
currently thinking of putting it somewhere on 50:50 split deal and see if it can earn me some money....

WHOA. When i saw that first pic, I had to turn around and make sure mine was still here! That even looked like my floor for a second!
I have that exact same one. It has SCRAMBLE artwork under the glass, but I don't think it originally was Scramble. I think these cabs were generics. I can't identify the cp art...
The coin box is not "just a box", since this one requires a metal face to close off that big hole you see in the pic there.

can you post a few pics of the coin box please?
if i can't pick one up anywhere, do you think it would be feasible for me to manufacture one somehow?

If someone can provide pics I can probably build one for you.
Oops, except I think we're on opposite sides of the big water, so shipping might be an issue.

Will do...

Here's the coin box.
You could probably get away with building one out of wood, and then attaching a painted-black metal face to it... (that's the hard part).
-
thanks for posting the pics

rchadd,
Given the state of it I'd say just simply mame it as cheaply as possible. Wouldn't bother with any games other than vertical classics.
-
Mame if the monitor is bad. If the monitor is good then rewire it to Konami and get yourself Time Pilot and Gyruss and Scramble and such.
