Title: Can Vectrex be set to vertical?
Post by: nish on May 10, 2005, 10:25:34 pm
I'm making a Vantage (vertical monitor) bartop and was wondering if anyone knows how to get Vectrex to run vertically? I would like to run it in DOS vertical, but I'll settle for Windows if that's all we can figure out. Thanks for your help.

been a while since I played with a Vectrex Emu but if you use MESS or AdvMess, you can rotate it vertically. I dunno about the others.

Do you mean an ACTUAL Vectrex or a Vectrex emulator?

ChadTower:

Yes, I do mean emulated. thanks

Thenasty:

Thanks for the info. I had tried MESS but could find were to specify rotation. I guess I'll mess ;) with it some more.

I'm definitely open to any other ideas anyone might have.

Thanks

I think in Mess you will need to create a vectrex.ini file in the Mess/ini folder. You can then specify Vectrex specific setting in this file. You can use any of the setting that appear in the regular mess.ini file.

Mess actually offers superior emulation once you get it setup.

Mess is like mame, but each game system is treated like a parent rom, and it's actual roms are treated like clones.  Keep that in mind when you make your ini files.
