damn I am minutes late with my post :)
-
Beat ya by 6 minutes exactly! ;)
-
$100 each? Too rich for me right now. >:(
-
Something doesn't make sense...
If they could sell them at 25 bux a pop and still turn a profit...
and now they're selling them at 80.. and definitely turning a huge profit...
What's the deal with them not selling them anymore after this limited run?
Something's not right.

It might be because they arent producing as many as before therefore rising the cost of the product. Also, because they know they can make a lot of money of it :-[

Still haven't received an email yet...

Yep, economy of scale. Last time around they made a huge order of them, this one will be just enough that people quit bugging them about whether they'll be making more lightguns. ;)
-
I'd rather hold out for a product that doesn't flash white on the screen every time I pull the trigger and maybe supports the shoot off screen to reload function. $100, p-shaw
-
Well, this is the LAST TIME it's gonna be avalible, so they're not gonna get any cheaper. I think I'll hold out for the Guncon 2 PC driver. ^_^
-
I've got a PC monitor so I really need these, but they're so expensive. :'(
Did anyone ever get 2 working together?
-
Then I suggest you do what I'm gonna do and wait for the Guncon 2 PC driver, and play using a TV. :P

I second that...besides I already bought them...
-
They are probably going to be selling refurbished ones that came back.
-
hey, hold out till E3 and we may have a pc lightgun that transcends all monitor types.
-
That's an excellent idea. :)

Everything they have posted says they will be doing a new manufacturing run. Unless Act-Labs are out & out liars, they're not trying to pass off refurbs as new.
-
Has something changed? I ordered a while back.... Just wondering if the pre-order status changed?
-

You'll also be able to use an arcade monitor with GunCon2

Yep I was waiting for a new run and need 2 but at $100.00 US a pop they can bite me. That'd be $250.00 AUD plus shipping!!! :o
I'll do without or look up this guncon 2 option as I have 2 arcade cabs running arcade monitors.

Same boat I need two and no way I am dishing 200.00 ,,I,, act labs.

Does the act-labs gun work with std arcade monitor and Arcade VGA gfx card?
Should i look to go down the GunCon2 route?

Does the act-labs gun work with std arcade monitor and Arcade VGA gfx card?
It should. It worked for me, anyway. I'm using a WG25k7191, the older ArcadeVGA, and the Act Labs PC USB light gun.
Andy Warne at Ultimarc has been running some tests with the Act Labs gun and arcade monitors. He discovered that if you use an arcade monitor and you splice the hsync and vsync wires together in your VGA cable hack, then the light gun won't work. I added a wire to my monitor's output cable for the vsync, and wired it correctly to the video card, and now I'm playing gun games on my cabinet. Sweet! By the way, according to Andy, this fact is true no matter what kind of video card you are using.
-
So long as you have seperate H & V syncs. Lucky for me I have a j-pac which provides this

I just got this e-mail from Act-Labs!!!!!

heheh.... looks like I'm a day late and a dollar short :-)
I didn't see those posts and wanted to make sure I let everyone know that they were going to be taking pre-orders....
better over informed than not informed, right? :)

personally I think the price kills the deal. I'll STILL wait for that community hack that will eventually show up.

No kidding. $79.99?? Ouch.

Isn't this old news? I pre-ordered mine awhile back and there should be a thread just like this on here. I noticed that this was the 3rd thread on the subject recently. No flames intended, just wondering why the sudden surge in interest lately....
-
Just merged all 3 separate posts into 1 big thread(in case your wondering why the posts dont follow any kind of direction, they are merged in order based on time of posting)
-
ah...i read through this before your post and couldn't figure out why all this seemed familiar...
but seriously people, wait till E3. you can always order after E3 is over if the new pc gun doesn't debut.

Don't wait too long..
Pre-order will close on May 30, 2005 and it will NEVER be made again.
Honestly, I think there's more promise in the GunCon2 driver project than there is in the camera-based gun that might show at E3. It sounds like that's almost working already.
Of course, it's all a moot point for me, as I pre-ordered the first day Act-Labs announced this run, before the GunCon2 project started.

WTF?!?!
