Title: multiple joysticks trouble
Post by: thephoneguy1234 on November 29, 2002, 12:45:11 am
Hey guys I need help with setting up my sticks.  I'm using a thrustmaster gamepak that has a flight yoke, and two 8-button gamepads all connected together to one joystick plug.  They all work in windows and but when starting advmame only the the first one I installed the drivers for works; i.e. if I install "gamepad 2" first, it works in advmame but the others do not. If the flight stick is installed first it, works in advmame , but not the other two, and so on.  I must have something wrong in the advmame.rc file or this setup isnt supported by mame.  If anyone else has this setup or has an idea of how to get it to work I really need to get some feedback!  This is the last thing to do before my cab. is complete!!!! ;D

Have you tried the basic windows mame?  Then you would know if it's an advmame problem.  I can't help with advmame very much, but might have some help if it's a windows problem.

Also what is this thrustmaster gamepak?  Can you link to it?  And when you say "installed first", do you mean the first in a daisychain?

The thrustmaster powerpak is the name on the drivers cd that came with the controllers.  It also came with a gamepak cd that had a couple of games on it.  I mixed the two up in my first post, sorry, but good luck finding anything on it.  The flight stick is the thrustmaster "top gun digital".  It plugs directly into the joystick port.  It also has a connetor that comes out of the flight stick with two female joystick connectors.  This is where the two 8-button gamepads connect.  The driver files are copyrighted 1997.  As far as "installed first" I mean which driver is installed first, flight stick, gamepad1, gamepad2.  I will try the win-based mame/advmame to see if it helps.
