Title: What to do with non-working monitor?

My 19" PC monitor recently stopped working.  Basically I left for work and when I returned it wouldn't even power on any longer.  I ended up just buying a new PC monitor but now I'm faced with getting rid of the old monitor.  I can't just throw it away.  I'd love to give it to someone that maybe knows how to fix it since it would probably make a great cocktail monitor.  What are my options?  Is there a way to recycle the thing?  Is anybody here interested in it?

I'm in Eastman Georgia which is about 60 miles south of Macon, Ga.
