Title: Hiding XP - What About the Sounds?
Post by: Wulfster on May 03, 2005, 01:07:06 pm
I got rid of 90% of the traces of XP in my cabinet, but I can't figure out what I need to change to get rid of the startup/shutdown sounds.

Mamewah is set as my shell, and if I alt-ctrl-del to run explorer, any settings I make  don't apply when I reboot.  I also updated the registry for .Default user with no change.  Am I missing something obvious?

Control Panel/Sounds/No Sound theme.

Those changes don't work after you set MameWah as the shell.

I did find my problem though.  I changed HKU\.Default\AppEvents\Schemes\Apps\.Default\WindowsLogon
where I should have changed HKU\.Default\AppEvents\Schemes\Apps\.Default\SystemStart

It's working now: Pacman startup on startup and Pacman death on shutdown.
