Title: how to resize a gif?

how would someone resize a gif or edit it to use as an avitar?
I got a cool one in an email, but I know its going to be too large to work.

Resizing a standard .gif is easy.  Resizing an animated one takes special tools.

by standard .gif you mean a regular video type .gif right? if thats the case thats what I've got.

animated gif is not standard, it's animated gif.  File extension is the same but the delimiters are in the file headers.

but I'm saying I don't think mine is an animated gif.

my guess is peales is an animated gif.

and peales old linday lohan avitar was a regular gif.

the .gif I have is an actual video of something.

An animated gif is just a series of regular gifs that rotate and are combined in one file.  If the picture changes at all, it is an animated gif and you will need software to change it.  Go to download.com and look up animated gif software, you'll probably find a simple free one.

I was gonna demonstrate my "kick-ass-ness" yet again, but Ima-gonna let you do this one, but for the love of Pete, BOOKMARK this because I'm going to charge you next time I have to do this....and I may be easy, but I sure ain't cheap!

To CREATE one, search for UnFreez  It's a freeware animated gif creator....you just need the series of pics

Eeek! Don't know if this affects anyone else, but it bugs me that I can't work out what that white door/poster thing is!?!? It looks like some kind of cross between a sports car and the Ten Commandments.  ???

I'm sorry you must be looking at the wrong picture.  I don't see anything behind her.
