Could anyone steer me to a good FREE web site proivder that I can put my cabinet up on. I'm looking for something easy to use and not too complicated, and of course free! I've tried freewebs.com but it won't even let me use pictures without paying....
Thanks for any help,
Surf

http://free.hostdepartment.com/ This is what SirPoonga uses. I considered it. No huge downloading allowed but otherwise seems pretty reasonable (at least last time I checked).

Yep, 10 meg free space. Use to be no banner or popups. Technically still not but they embed their logo and links at the bottom of the pages/browser.
Extremely limited in file type, htrml and graphics only. But for documenting your project that is perfect.
External linking is disabled, so you relaly can't link to your pics here unless you tell the person to open a new browser windows (not using control-N, actually opening a new browser) and copy and paste the link.
If there is a pic I need to link I host it at photobucket.com. if something large needs to be linked I use my fe.donkeyfly.com. And that is usually temporary stuff I need to link then. Don't want to stress sirwoogie's server too much.

What about Blogger? http://www.blogger.com/start

Yeah, I use Blogger for a couple of things.. good stuff for quick-easy-throw-it-up-on-the-web sites.. if you're looking for a more involved; custom site, you may look elsewhere.
download Picasa to upload your pics.. (or use something like Photobucket or Imageshack to host pics).

I wouldn't use that google software (Picasa, Keyhole). There's issues with the way it works allows google to do some nasty spyware etc... on your system. Even though Google says they aren't I wouldn't trust them since the capability is there.

Yeah, Blogger is a google product as well... in for a penny, in for a pound...

True, but it isn't something you install on your computer.

You got a link about this? I've not heard anything about this before....

Don;t have a link off hand.

yup there are a million ways the Google could abuse the information they gather about you (and not soley through things like Picasa)...
If they were doing this then they know ALL about me (google searches, my blogger blogs, my GMail, Picasa, Hello... )

Right, but Picasa and Keyhole look at the files on your computer. If you have sensitive documents I wouldn't trust it. The other stuff is all web based. Even though that could look at your coputer and report it to it is just more of a piece of mind thing :)

Thanks everyone,
