Title: Mamewah first game issue

After mamewah starts very often the first game I attempt to launch hangs. An hour glass appears then nothing. If I use taskmanager to end task on mame then all works well. Obviously in a cab this is undesirable. has anyone else seen this behavior, found a way to fix it?

Just a hunch, but are you running MAME32?

Nope. Using plain old mame ver 0.89.

What do you mean "it hangs"? Does the screen freeze? Do you just get nothing on the screen?

  I wonder if this is a window-focus issue.  Try searching the software forum for "windows focus" and see if any of those solutions work for you.

By hangs I mean I see the screen saying loading 'cool game x', hour glass symbol cursor appears, cursor still moves with mouse or trackball but the game does not load. windows task manager shows both mamwah and mame to be "not responding. If I end task on mame then relaunch the game or any other game it works fine. only the first game that I launch sometimes gives me this problem. Interestingly if I shut down mamwah and restart it the problem does not reoccur. It seems to only happen the first time starting mamewah after a reboot.
