Hi All,
Wow, its' been almost a year since I was last on these forums! I've been too busy playing my awesome arcade cabinet!!! I know that most of the peopl on this forum are all gung-ho about building their own controls, but I took the wimpy route and purchased a slikstick classic console. The quality and finish of this console is great, however I've had a problem with teh spinner from day one, and slikstick support isnt exactly timely, if it's even there at all!! :-) The spinner on my classic, is a standard USB device, and it's never worked! I know it's supposed to act like the left-right axis on a mouse, so essentially, I should be able to spin the spinner right, and the mouse cursor in windows should move right, and the same goes for moving the spinner left. Unfortunately, with my spinner, the mouse cursor doesn't really move, instead, it sort of shudders, as if it wants to move, but then it doesn't. has anyone had this issue? Any ideas i might try to remedy it???

When I first got my classic panel I had the exact same issues. What I did was uninstall (In Device Manager) everything under Human Interface Devices and then power the pc down. Then physically remove all the usb devices attached to the pc. Then power back up. Once windows is back up put each device in 1 by 1 until they are all recognized. Hope that helps....

Also, after the OS boots up, unplug it and replug it back in.

A way overdue update! I contacted Christian at SlickStick and told of my issue with the control panel. I happen to work within 30 minutes of where SlikStick is located, so he agreed to let me bring the CP to him for troubleshooting. Within 10 minutes of arriving, he had decided that the spinner was defective and he replaced it with a brand new one! When I asked him how much I owed him for the replacement, he told me it was free!!!!! I then saw a whole pile of Happ buttons on his workbench and mentioned that one or two of mine were sticking a bit. Next thing I know, he puts half a dozen in a bag and hands them to me FREE OF CHARGE! All of this, and my control panel was over a year old!!! Well anyway, nobody is probably ever going to read this, but i thought that Christian's helpfulness and dedication to his customers should be reported anyway!!!!! Peace

Or, maybe just 130 people from the count so far...

I haven't dealt with slikstik personally, and I have heard that customer support is somewhat suspect...but I have also heard that once they do help...they really help.

Xam, I must admit that when I first ordered the control panel from them, it took several weeks, and it was very hard to get any communication with them. I had a bit of an unfair advantage, though. You see, I son't like when people ignore me and so i did a bit of sleuthing and found their address, then i googled the address and found a phone number matching that address. When i called, I got a guy who said that teh number I called wasn't SlikStick, but that he could give me their number. So it must have been a suprise to them to hear one of their customers on the phone pestering them for the status of my order!!! ;D Anyway, When I went to their workshop, it was like a wonderland of arcade machine parts, and in meeting the guys, i did get a sense of dedication to building a high quality product, it's just that unfortunately, like most small companies, their product far exceeds their business savvy and customer service abilities!
