Title: My control panel layout, please give input
Post by: jer2665 on April 28, 2005, 11:19:22 pm
Hey folks, after quite a while and quite a few questions, i think i've decided upon the layout for my 4p franken panel...i don't feel like having multiple ones.

I am going to use 49-way's for p1&p2 with gp-wiz, and supers for p3&p4, im thinking a happs 3" trackball, and a v2 spinner.

To make this easier to edit if you feel so inclined, instead of hacking it in paint or something, i've put the ai file up on my website http://www.jeremyhalvorsen.com/arcade/controlpanel.ai

Please let me know input.

Thanks.

oh yeah, this cabinet will be an UAII, and I will mainly be playing newer games, fighting games, action games, not as many classics, but i want the trackball and spinner for the option to, and for Golden Tee of course, and for 4 player games it's gonna be simpsons, xmen, turtles, all that fun stuff, how do you feel about the layout for that?

oops, I had the wrong ai file uploaded, I redid the layout, and saved it, so hopefully all the stuff should be on the ai file.  I also redid the copy of the picture, i just made the black box to fit the 1" in, and the 5/8" mdf as a border.

um, overall it looks good, but i'd watch out about the trackball if you want it for golden tee.  a common mistake is to put the trackball up towards the top of the control panel.  but when playing golden tee, you'll be knocking your hand into the monitor glass all the time (or so i'm told...not a big golden tee fan, or real golf for that matter).  other than that, i think it looks good, but you might want to wait for input from others before you commit to it.  hopefully this bump will get it some more critisizm.

oh, and i still need that angle.   ;)
