I brought my MAME computer to work today.
Will bad things happen if I plug the ArcadeVGA into a regular computer monitor?

Isn't there a secondary output on the newer AVGA that runs @31hz? If you have one of those then there will be no problem at all. If not, you could just try hooking it up. The worst that will happen is the monitor will display it's "Out of Sync" message or just a black screen.

I just don't want to fry anything just because I'm too lazy to swap cards.
...maybe I should just swap cards

Hmm, laziness costing 100 bucks? That is some risk! ::)

It shouldn't fry your monitor (or board) but it won't work with a regular VGA monitor.

OK, the inside or middle VGA plug is for the arcade monitor and the outter is for a PC. The only way you can get the Pc port to display is to have some sort of arcade monitor or jpac type thing plugged into the arcadeMon port. I actually have 2 dead chassis from other monitors that I plug into the breakout cable. the chassis don't even need be powered but plugged in. the same goes for the Jpac card. it prolly has something to do with the resistance of a certain component in line with something and a small jumpper could most likely be made and plugged in to replace the mass I use but ehh.. no your not gonna blow anything up..even if yu plug the pc monitor in by itself.. I have tested this for you and have even had faulty cards outta box. best part is Andy is a greatguy and has some great products!!

This ArcadeVGA only has one VGA and one composite
Don't worry guys
I never profited at all from being lazy so I swapped in another board
I just hate opening up this PC though
It's one of those old supercompact HPs that you have to swing out the power supply and remove the drive cage just to swap a card >:(
