Title: What's a better joy? The T-Stick or the T-Stick plus?
Post by: 2PacMan on April 27, 2005, 08:38:36 am
The T-Stick Plus sounds like a better way to go, but has anyone had first hand experience with either one?  I'm also torn between the color...blue or black.  I know what the black one looks like, anyone have a pic of the blue one?

Yes, that'd be great, thank you.  I'm planning on ordering in the next few days, hopefully you can get a pic up by then.  Which one do you have, the t-stick or the t-stick plus?

I have one of each.

T-stick plus on left
T-stick on right
They are actually a little lighter blue than the picture shows

Thank you so much.  I think maybe i'll try the blue.  I just didn't want something real bright blue that will stand out.  i have translucent blue buttons, so that might look good.

I suppose if i really hate the color once i get them, it'd be easy enough to paint them black.

How is the functionality of the T-stick plus.  Is it really as easy to switch from 4-8 as the website says?  Do you even accidentally switch it as your playing??  Seems like that'd be the way to go so you wouldn't have to open up your control panel all the time, but i want to make sure the feel of the sticks is still good.

or you can order another handle and exchange it, I'm sure theres someone on the board here you could sell it to if you didn't like it.

Theres some who think that they feel kind of heavy, but I like them myself. If they feel too heavy for you though you can change thi microswitches and that will help a little. it litterally takes a second to change from 4 t 8 way. And theres no way you can accidentally switch when youre playing. unless you play games super wierd.

very short throw.  some people dont like that, others like myself, dont mind.

impossible to accidently switch from 4 to 8 way.  You have to pull up with a small amount of force , and twist teh knob, then release.  cant accidently do it

Oh come on, I ask about them and I get comments about how crappy the throw is, discourages me, now look, they're great :P  I think Andy said something about making the light switches default, dont know when though...

They are great for me because of the Switch from 4 to 8 way from the top.

Without going underneath the control panel.

That makes up for the throw.

T stick plus definately....

i have a set of them and they rock big time....... some people complain about the short throw...... personally in the middle of some good-time StreetfighterII action - i dont even care............ kickin ass etc etc.

T stick plus - you wont regret it!!!

I bet you asked in the main forum, wich is where most people on this board look. but normally half of the people will tell you how great they are and the other half will tell you how much they suck. Its more preferance than anything else. however if you use any stick for a while you will get used to it.

He also didn't ask if we liked them, he only wanted the two compared.

i would also add that ultimarc now have new microswitches which are quieter..... the noisy clicks always annoyed me slightly until i got right into a game.......

How can we compare the T to the T+ ??

They're the same stick.  The only difference is that the T+ has had a little extra hardware attached to make the above-panel switching happen.  It's attached in places that don't have anything to do with gameplay- the extra hardware will not affect the feel of the stick or the gameplay.  You'll never know it's there except when you switch modes, and you won't ever accidentally switch modes while playing, unless you are in the habit of trying to lift & spin the machine by the stick handle while playing.  I doubt you could even tell the difference between the two by feel, unless you tried to pull them up.
